Moth Sprays, Traps and Repellents with Natural Based Ingredients

moth sprays lures and repellents organic natural based no articial fragrance or parabens

Moths don’t differentiate between expensive and cheap jumpers. They are fans of undisturbed corners that are dark as well as warm. This could be a dark corner or underneath an armchair you use daily and doesn’t have to be undisturbed in our way of thinking, like the spare guest room or a dark attic corner (although they also hang out there).

If the usual household cleaning actions, like hoovering even between the gaps of your floorboards and mopping also underneath your rugs, don’t prevent moths, there are a few more things you can do!

If I see a moth at home, I am all in! They awaken my competitive side and I start screening for small dots everywhere! It is important you deal with the problem at its onset! The more you sweep this under the carpet, the bigger the problem becomes! This is terribly true when it comes to moths.

First, you have to do some detective work to find out where the moths are actually coming from. If you can’t find it, remember to put on your glasses (you ll always be young at heart, I know). Simply removing the item from the room or putting the rug outside in the sunlight, is not going to stop the problem or get rid of the issue. As a first response to an infestation, invest in a good non-toxic natural moth spray.

Signs of a heavy moth infestation can include considerable visible damage to soft furnishings caused by moth larvae, the sight of adult moths flying around the room, or moth traps becoming completely full with adult moths within one to two weeks of its deployment.

Note that moths are most active in the months March and April, so a bottle of moth spray for Valentine’s day, is in fact a loving present and less pricey than Chanel Mademoiselle. It is important you make sure the spray reaches the base of the infested items where the larvae are nesting (as its the larvae rather than the actual moths who are causing the holes in your fabrics) Just ‘skimming the surface’ is not gonna get you out of trouble this time!

Besides sprays it is also a good idea to buy some moth traps, ideally also around Valentine’s day, when love is in the air. These traps are used to detect and monitor a moth infestation early on. They contain a sticky board impregnated with pheromones, which attract male moths. Note these traps only attract the males, so for every moth in the trap there is still a female flying round. However, it does prevent them from laying eggs and together with a good spray you should get the problem under control.

In addition to sprays and traps, a moth repellent spray helps you all year round to minimise future issues and also gives a fresh scent to the room.

I ve got a few recommendations I would like to share with you on moth sprays, repellents and traps! Besides the fact I’m cautious about corporate gigantism like Amazon, most important is that the products below are just unbeatable when it comes to moths! Moreover, they are made in UK and from natural sources with no artificial fragrance, colours or parabens!

When it comes to moths and carpets, make sure you have your rugs properly cleaned once in a while, ideally by a professional carpet cleaner. Additionally, it is a good idea to invest in a high-quality carpet underlay, especially if you have old flooring or gaps in your floorboards. A good underlay makes such a difference, not only in keeping the rug in place but also to make it much nicer to walk on!

I m amazed you have managed to read a whole blog post about moth sprays, traps and repellents and I m sorry this article doesn’t offer any ‘master solution’, but more a range of small step actions to help prevent, monitor and minimise the issue.

Natural Chrysanthemum Moth Spray 250ml

This moth spray is highly effective as a first response to a heavy infestation. It’s a natural insecticide with the active ingredient ‘natural pyrethrum’, extracted from the flowerhead of Chrysanthemums. Natural pyrethrum has an insecticidal effect and kills insects. Chrysanthemum spray works on contact with adult moths, larvae and eggs. It contains no artificial ingredients no organo-chlorine pesticides, no synthetic materials, and no harmful synergists such as PBOs commonly used in other insecticides but don’t get confused, IT WORKS!

Pheromone Moth Trap

This Pheromone moth trap contains a sticky board impregnated with pheromones. Though they only attract the males, it does prevent the females from laying eggs, stops the breeding cycle, and as such helps to get your problem under control. This is a completely non-poisonous alternative to chemical insect control and can be used in your rooms all year round.

Natural Moth Repellent Spray

This moth repellent spray is made from natural sources with no artificial fragrance, colours or parabens. I personally like the Cedarwood scent most which is a careful blend of natural ingredients, in natural plant alcohol and spring water which also includes red and atlas cedar, fir, lemongrass and may Chang, rosemary, thyme and clove bud. Use as a home spray once a week in the moth breeding season although in cities like London, it is moth Valentine’s Day pretty much all year round!
